Engineering Project Manager (Waukesha County)
The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing assigned projects from initiation through completion, ensuring alignment with contractual requirements, timelines, and budget constraints. This role leads project planning, execution, and team coordination while maintaining high-quality standards and fostering strong client relationships.Key Responsibilities:Receive and manage project assignments from leadershipSupport proposal development and participate in presentationsAssist in the preparation and understanding of project contractsDefine project scope by developing detailed task listsEstablish and manage project budgets and schedulesParticipate in project team selection and resource planningAssign tasks, budgets, and timelines to team membersProvide daily guidance, direction, and support to project teamsEnsure accuracy and quality of all technical deliverablesMonitor project progress to maintain scope, schedule, and budgetIdentify and manage scope changes, obtaining approvals as neededReview project invoices prior to client distributionSupport collection efforts for outstanding receivablesProactively identify project risks and escalate when necessaryMentor and develop technical capabilities of team membersOversee preparation and quality of all client-facing documentationMaintain ongoing communication with stakeholders during and after project completionPromote and contribute to internal design and production standardsMaintain organized project documentation and workspacesSoft Skills & Competencies:Strong client relationship management skills with a professional and thoughtful approachEffective leadership with the ability to mentor and develop team membersExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsStrong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational abilitiesAbility to foster collaboration and cross-functional teamworkHigh level of accountability and attention to detailQualifications:Minimum of 8 years of experience in design and/or project managementBachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical/vocational fieldGeneral understanding of engineering systems:Mechanical: HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and controlsElectrical: power distribution, lighting, and low-voltage/special systemsKnowledge of applicable codes and industry standardsProficiency in project management tools and computer systems (CAD knowledge preferred)Ability to manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously
