School Nurse
JOB SUMMARY:The School Nurse will manage and coordinate the school's health services program based on requirements established by school division policies, procedures, and protocols, and by local, state and national regulations and statues; maintain and operate the school clinic. Because healthy children are successful learners, the clinic nurse will advocate for the physical, emotional, mental, and social health of scholars.ESSENTIAL DUTIES:See and assess scholars who come to clinic due to illness or injuryGive prescribed medicationsVision and Hearing ScreeningsDocument all clinic visitsCall and inform parents as needed regarding scholar’s complaint, health status, and recommendations regarding medical/dental referrals and need to pick student up from school when necessaryDevelop clinic services report for designated Health Service DepartmentConduct yearly Scoliosis screening for middle school scholarsOrder clinic suppliesMaintain an orderly clinic atmospherePerform other duties as assignedREQUIRED SKILLS ABILITIES:Knowledge of fundamental nursing concepts, practices, and procedures essentialEffective communication skills, both verbal and writtenStrong organizational skillsEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Vocational or other technical school, certification, training or apprenticeship required beyond HSMinimum of 2 years of school nursing, pediatric nursing, or related nursing specialty2 years verifiable work experience as a RN strongly preferredCertification in CPR/AED requiredLPN licensure in the State of Georgia, RN Certification preferredPowered by JazzHRFu5BiqUx84
