Truck/Trailer Mechanic
As a mobile mechanic operating our service truck, you will be asked to travel and work under limited supervision and will perform work of considerable difficulty in the repair and maintenance of trucks, semis, trailers, and equipment. You will also perform related work as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES/ other duties as assigned…
Know how to repair/operate specific equipment including trucks up to class 8, trailers, dual lane trailers, line trailers, forklifts, and pickups.
Running diagnostics on different trucks and equipment.
Regular inspections, repairs, and scheduled maintenance.
Complete any repairs that are needed such as repairing worn-out parts, etc.
Daily maintenance and repair logs.
Removes unsafe equipment from service and makes appropriate repair(s) to return equipment to service.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS...
5+ years mechanic experience
CDL preferred.
Must own their tools.
Knowledge of the repairs of semi-trucks/trailers
Strong knowledge of hydraulics and electrical systems
Experience working with air brakes and fuel systems.
Knowledge of DOT inspection on trucks and trailers.
Ability to use hand and power tools to repair trucks and trailers.
Ability to read repair manuals, electrical schematics, and hydraulic schematics.
Valid driver’s license
Excellent mechanical repair skills
Ability to follow instructions.
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Must be able to operate a computer and keep thorough records of repairs/inspections.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.65 - $34.00 per hour
