Discovery Clerk / Litigation Paralegal - Personal Injury Law Firm

Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per yearJob description:Custodio & Dubey LLP is seeking an experienced Discovery Clerk / Litigation Paralegal to join our Downtown Los Angeles office.We are looking for someone with strong personal injury litigation experience who can confidently handle discovery from start to finish, including drafting discovery responses, preparing discovery requests, reviewing case documents, and assisting attorneys with litigation-related pleadings and filings.The ideal candidate must have at least 3 years of personal injury litigation experience and be comfortable working in a fast-paced litigation environment. This role is best suited for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and experienced with California civil litigation procedures.Experience with Filevine is a plus. Experience filing documents across all California counties is also a plus.What Success Looks Like in This RoleDraft discovery responses, including responses to Form Interrogatories, Special Interrogatories, Requests for Admission, and Requests for Production.Prepare and propound written discovery, including Form Interrogatories, Special Interrogatories, Requests for Admission, and Requests for Production of Documents.Review, organize, and summarize discovery documents, medical records, incident reports, photographs, client records, and other case materials.Draft and assist with litigation pleadings, notices, declarations, meet-and-confer letters, discovery motions, and other court-related documents.Assist attorneys with discovery deadlines, case deadlines, and litigation calendar management.Prepare documents for attorney review and ensure all drafts are accurate, complete, and properly formatted.File legal documents in California state courts, including e-filing across different counties.Communicate with clients regarding discovery responses, document collection, verifications, and case-specific information.Coordinate with attorneys, case managers, litigation assistants, experts, and vendors as needed.Maintain organized case files and ensure all discovery materials are properly saved and updated in the case management system.Assist with deposition, mediation, hearing, arbitration, and trial preparation.Support the litigation team with other case-related tasks as needed.Ideal Candidate QualificationsMinimum of 3 years of personal injury litigation experience required.Experience drafting discovery responses and propounding discovery required.Experience drafting pleadings, motions, notices, declarations, and other litigation documents strongly preferred.Strong understanding of California civil litigation procedures and discovery rules.Experience filing documents in California state courts required; experience filing across multiple California counties is a plus.Filevine experience is a plus.Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced law firm environment.Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain clean and accurate case files.Comfortable communicating with clients and gathering information for discovery responses.Bilingual English/Spanish a plusParalegal certificate or legal studies background preferred but not required.Compensation & BenefitsCompensation for this role is $75,000 - $95,000 per year, depending on experience. This is a full-time, non-exempt position.The position is based in our Downtown Los Angeles office.
