We work closely with students, host families, local coordinators, schools, and international partners to build lifelong relationships based on cultural exchange.Role DescriptionThe Local Coordinator is a contract role based in the United States, focusing on Salida, Colorado, with the flexibility for some work to be completed from home. As a Local Coordinator, you will serve as a community representative, mentoring high school exchange students, engaging with host families, and promoting cross-cultural understanding. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include recruiting and vetting host families, supporting students throughout their exchange experience, organizing local events, and fostering connections between students, families, and schools. You will also act as a liaison for STS Foundation, ensuring the program's mission of enriching lives through cultural exchange is upheld.QualificationsStrong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with students, host families, and schoolsOrganizational skills for managing schedules, coordinating events, and assisting with student placementsA passion for cultural diversity and sensitivity to different cultural backgroundsAbility to work independently and take initiative while adhering to program guidelinesExperience in community engagement or a related field is a plusFamiliarity with the surrounding community is beneficial.Previous involvement in international exchange programs or education is an advantageTo learn more about being a Local Coordinator, please visit our website athttps://stsfoundation.org/become-a-local-coordinator/The pay scale and incentive schedule will be provided upon application.
