Utility Worker 1Lakeside, AZ 85929OverviewSalary Range $20.01 Hourly Level Entry Position Type Full Time Education Level High School - GED Category OperationsDescriptionUnder the supervision of the Division Manager, Operations Superintendent, Foreman and Utility Worker ("UW") III and UW IV, the UW I must demonstrate a proficiency in communicating with the general public, Company employees, supervisors, and others. The UW I must demonstrate the ability to prepare legible, clear, concise, and complete written reports, map postings, changing meters, and assisting UW III and UW IV employees. The UW I must be able to work outdoors in all occasions. The UW 1I must understand and communicate information related to customer service, maintain proper conduct, and present a positive image of the Company. Be available to work overtime in emergency as well as planned job assignments.Job Duties and Essential FunctionsThis is an entry-level position.Under general direction and supervision from UW III and UW IV.Will assist with the general maintenance of the water distribution system including, but not limited to, meter change-outs, water main and water service repair/replacement, and water storage tank maintenance.Works independently on general property maintenance (painting, cleaning, sorting, etc.), customer notifications, 1-inch and smaller meter change-outs, and other work not requiring continuing direction or supervision.Performs other duties as assigned or as directed by supervisors.QualificationsEducation and ExperienceMust be a high school graduate with strong mechanical/pipefitting/construction aptitude.Pipefitting or construction experience preferred, but not required.Professional or Other Certification or LicensingMust have a valid, appropriate Arizona driver's license with an acceptable driving record.Equipment UsedHand tools, power tools, compaction and other equipment related to water distribution system maintenance may be used.May operate a Company vehicle.Physical RequirementsMust be physically able to perform job duties that may require walking, bending, kneeling, digging, and lifting items of at least seventy-five (75) pounds in weight.Must be able to work outside in all types of weather.
