Materials Technician - 3rd Shift
Materials TechnicianAs a Materials Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient flow, accuracy, and integrity of materials throughout our manufacturing and distribution processes. This position is responsible for handling, storing, tracking, and moving inventory while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and operational excellence.You will work as part of a team to execute material control processes, support production needs, and ensure accurate inventory management through system transactions and physical movement of goods.Key ResponsibilitiesReceive, inspect, wash, pick, package, and ship materials in accordance with established proceduresLoad and unload trucks; coordinate dispatch activitiesOperate material handling equipment, including forkliftsPerform cycle counts and maintain accurate inventory records in system(s)Execute inventory transactions related to manufacturing, procurement, and shippingManage Kanban processes and ensure materials are issued using FIFO methodologyMonitor inventory levels and communicate shortages or discrepanciesTrack and report scrap and material variancesMaintain required logs, documentation, and reportsSupport 5S initiatives and identify process improvement opportunities (7 wastes)Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environmentFollow all safety, quality, and operational proceduresPerform other duties as assignedRequired QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GEDAbility to follow written and verbal instructions accuratelyBasic computer proficiency (inventory systems, data entry, transactions)Strong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to work effectively in a team environmentSafety-conscious mindsetPreferred QualificationsPrior experience in materials handling, warehouse, or manufacturing environmentForklift certification (or ability to obtain certification)Experience with inventory control systems and cycle countingSkills & CompetenciesInventory accuracy and accountabilityTime management and task prioritizationProblem-solving and continuous improvement mindsetCommunication and teamworkAdaptability in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift and move materials up to 45 pounds on an occasional basisAbility to stand and walk for extended periods of time (8 - 10 hours)Frequent use of hands for handling, grasping, and operating equipmentAbility to bend, stoop, twist, and reach as required for material handling tasksAbility to safely operate powered industrial equipment (e.g., forklift)Visual ability to inspect materials and read labels, screens, and documentationAbility to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and noise levels
