Construction Estimator
The Construction Estimator is responsible for calculating the type, quantity, and cost of materials and labor required for our construction projects. This role analyzes blueprints, specifications, and project plans to prepare accurate material takeoffs and cost estimates. The Estimator collaborates closely with project managers, engineers, suppliers, and subcontractors to optimize project budgets, manage bids, and reduce waste across multiple projects.Key ResponsibilitiesTakeoffs & AnalysisReview blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine precise material quantities and labor costPerform detailed quantity takeoffs to support accurate estimating and eliminate wasteCost EstimationCalculate comprehensive material costs, including labor, shipping, equipment and value engineeringRoutinely track market pricing and adjust estimatesCivil Infrastructure materials costs, including labor, shipping, and equipmentVendor ManagementSolicit, analyze, and compare quotes from suppliers and subcontractorsAssist with vendor negotiations and bid evaluationsBudgeting & ReportingPrepare, update, and present cost and estimate reports for Infrastructure and Vertical ConstructionIdentify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvementsCoordination & CollaborationWork closely with project managers, engineers, and suppliers to align estimates with project scopeManage estimate revisions due to design or scope changesSupport multiple company projects simultaneously while meeting deadlinesDevelop and deliver presentations and proposals to internal teams and executivesQualifications & SkillsTechnical & Analytical SkillsAbility to read and interpret civil designs, construction drawings, blueprints, and specificationsStrong mathematical and analytical skills for accurate cost calculationsSolid understanding of construction methods and documentsSoftware & ToolsExperience with estimating software and Microsoft ExcelKnowledge of CAD software preferredProfessional SkillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong organizational skills with attention to detailAbility to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneouslyRequired Skills & ExperienceBackground in construction, engineering, or a related fieldExperience in Infrastructure and Vertical Construction quantity surveying, material takeoffs, or project estimatingKnowledge of building codes, construction materials, and safety regulationsCompensation & BenefitsSalary: Competitive and based on experienceBenefits & Perks:Employer-paid health insurance for the employee401(k) optionsPaid vacation, sick leave, and holidays after a 90-day probationary periodExperience:Infrastructure and Vertical Construction estimating: 3 years (Required)Ability to Relocate:Rincon, GA 31326: Relocate before starting work (Required)Willingness to travel:25% (Required)Work Location: In person
