CNC Maintenance Technician & Setup/Operator
Job Overview
We’re looking for a skilled CNC Maintenance Technician & Setup/Operator to join our team in a hybrid role that blends hands-on machine operation with technical troubleshooting and mechanical maintenance.
This role is ideal for someone with experience maintaining, repairing, or rebuilding CNC equipment, a background in CNC machining, and strong mechanical aptitude. Key Responsibilities
Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on CNC lathes, mills, and related production equipment
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues
Rebuild spindles and turrets, replace bearings, align machine components, and handle other mechanical rebuild tasks
Replace and align servo motors, drive units, and related motion systems
Troubleshoot and work with PLCs, I/O modules, and associated control hardware
Perform ladder logic diagnostics and control troubleshooting
Assist in the setup and/or operation of CNC machines (primarily Fanuc-controlled) as needed to support production
Ensure machines are running efficiently, safely, and producing quality parts
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and downtime
Coordinate with outside service providers when major repairs are required
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace
Qualifications
· 3–5+ years of hands-on CNC maintenance and mechanical troubleshooting experience (required)
· Deep knowledge of CNC systems, especially spindle and turret assemblies, motion systems, and servo motor replacement
· Familiarity with PLCs such as Allen-Bradley, sensors, control wiring, and ladder logic troubleshooting
Ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues
Familiarity with Fanuc controls and CNC machine setup
Strong mechanical background; able to read blueprints and schematics
Comfortable using micrometers, calipers, and diagnostic tools
Ability to work independently and support production needs
