This Patent Litigation Associate Attorney opportunity is open to candidates with a technical background and meaningful patent litigation experience, and will operate on an in-office or hybrid basis in the firm's Chicago office. This Associate Attorney will handle all phases of patent litigation in federal courts, working alongside experienced IP litigators on high-stakes matters involving complex technologies across a range of industries. The firm serves a diverse client base of domestic and international companies seeking to enforce, defend, and manage their intellectual property assets.

Salary range: $215,000-$255,000+ contingent on experience

Qualifications
J.D. from an accredited law school
Admission to the Illinois State Bar or eligibility for admission
Registration with the United States Patent and Trademark Office preferred
Undergraduate or advanced degree in engineering, computer science, physics, chemistry, or a related technical field
Meaningful experience in patent litigation, including federal court practice
Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
Ability to manage multiple matters and work collaboratively in a team environment
Responsibilities
Handle all phases of patent litigation in federal district courts and before the International Trade Commission
Draft and argue dispositive and pretrial motions, including claim construction briefs
Conduct and defend fact and expert depositions
Manage discovery, including document review, written discovery, and e-discovery coordination
Assist in trial preparation, including witness preparation, exhibit development, and courtroom support
Research and analyze patent validity, infringement, and damages issues
Coordinate with technical experts and client personnel on case strategy and development
Support inter partes review and other post-grant proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board
