Senior Application Engineer - Electrical
Your TasksResponsible for the design and estimation of electrical controls and electrical site installation for both conveyors process equipment, working from equipment layouts and process equipment schematics, along with developing technical documentation for inclusion in sales proposals. Responsibilities require good communication skills for liaison with customers, suppliers and subcontractors along with Durr interdepartmental communication.Analyze customer technical specificationsCoordinate in-house estimating activities including relevant drawings and specificationsCoordinate major electrical subcontractors for process equipment and conveyorsCoordinate intercompany activities with offices in Germany and MexicoSupport layouts with layout engineerUnderstand Visio schematics for paint process equipmentDevelop Electrical Purchased Equipment listsInvestigate alternate sources for equipment and subcontractorsDevelop detailed estimate spreadsheets for projects and customer bid formsDevelop technical specifications and clarifications for bidsDevelop project and job schedulesSupport job handoverSupport job implementation by attending planning meetings, design reviews, etc.Conduct technical presentations and provide clarification to customers and other departmentsTravel approximately 15%Your Skills:Bachelor of Science in EngineeringTen or more years of paint shop experienceDemonstrated knowledge of process equipment electrical designProficient with Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OutlookProficient with VisioKnowledge of SAP is a plusAbility to understand and maintain project schedulesGood time management skillsGood organizational skillsGood verbal communication skillsGood technical writing skillsAble to effectively communicate with engineering and estimating departments, contractors, suppliers, and customersAble to work well independently and in a team environmentAble to technically define problems and propose solutionsAdaptable to change in a learning environmentWilling and able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays when necessary
