Full-Time Adult Psychiatrist

Position Summary The Department of Psychiatry at South Oaks Hospital seeks a full‑time inpatient psychiatrist to provide clinical leadership and direct care for a busy unit in Amityville, NY. The ideal candidate is an energetic leader with excellent clinical, teaching, supervisory, and interpersonal skills, comfortable leading a multidisciplinary team of clinicians and managing acute psychiatric patients with a focus on service excellence. Responsibilities Provide clinical leadership and oversee the inpatient psychiatry unit. Deliver direct patient care and coordinate treatment plans. Supervise and mentor residents, interns, and other clinical staff. Teach clinical skills and conduct educational sessions for the multidisciplinary team. Ensure quality and safety of psychiatric care while promoting clinical best practices. Qualifications Board certified / board eligible in Psychiatry. ACGME‑approved residency training. Eligible for a New York State medical license. Excellent communication skills. Preferred experience in inpatient psychiatry; new graduates with the required combination of skills and experience are encouraged to apply. Benefits Nationally competitive salaries.
