Performs routine clerical tasks to support teachers and other district staff.Shift Details: 6 hours per day; 183 day school year calendar, however, actual number of work days depend on start date.Non-Continuing Position: Remainder of 24-25 school year only.FLSA Status: Non-ExemptHourly Rate: $27.54 to $31.39 (hourly) (2024-2025 Classified Support Staff Salary Schedule)Position Type: Paraeducator Level 1Please click the link under "Attachments" at bottom right to review the full job description.Required QualificationsEducation and Experience: Be at least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalentIn addition, a paraeducator must meet one of the following: Hold an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university Have earned 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at the 100 level or higher at an accredited college or university Completed an apprenticeship as a paraeducator, in a program registered with the Washington State Apprenticeship and Training Council Received a passing score on one of the following PESB approved assessments:ETS ParaPro AssessmentPearson Paraprofessional AssessmentMaster Teacher Inc. Paraeducator Online Training ProgramLicenses/Special RequirementsPossession of valid First Aid and CPR Certifications or willingness to acquire depending on job assignment. Certification of de-escalation and physical restraint training is required for all employees who work in a self-contained classroom.Preferred QualificationsPrevious experience working with students in an educational setting and/or evidence of an interest in supporting learning experiences.Training with cultural, ethnic and language diversity.BenefitsThe Washington State Health Care Authority (HCA) provides access to health care services and retirement packages.
