The teacher plans and implements lessons in a variety of subjects, assesses student progress, and collaborates with parents, colleagues, and administrators to ensure the success of each child.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESProvide learning experiences in language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, physical education, fine arts, foreign language, social/emotional development, and other subject matter suited to the needs of children.Develop and use instructional methods and materials suitable for instruction of children with a wide range of mental, physical, and emotional maturities presented through multiple learning modalities.Provide ongoing observation and authentic assessment of children and maintain documentation of each child's progress and growth.Develop individual educational plans (IEPs) designed to promote students' educational, physical, or social development and prepare developmental progress reports as needed.Provide individual and small-group instruction designed to meet individual needs of children in communication skills, health habits, physical skills, and development of satisfactory self-concepts.Work as IEP case manager, overseeing delivery of service minutes and ensuring IEP compliance, as well as communicating with all related service providers.Communicate regularly with parents by means of parent meetings, newsletters, home visits, and individual parent conferences.Comply with DCFS mandated reporter guidelines.QUALIFICATIONSProfessional Educator License (PEL)Bachelor's degree in early childhood educationEarly Childhood Special Education (ECT) OR Endorsement in Early Childhood Special Education (ECS3)Endorsement in English Language LearnerSalary and benefits aligned with AEEA Collective Bargaining Agreement located at: antioch34.com.Attachment(s):Job Description _ Early childhood_PFA.pdf
