Tool Technician
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Tool Technician to join our manufacturing team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and optimizing a wide range of manufacturing tools and equipment to ensure seamless production processes. Position Summary
Tool technicians are responsible for preventative maintenance and repairing a variety of tools. Additional tasks involve providing support for tool room equipment operations and use of 2D/3D mold files on the computer.
Duties
Repairs molds when needed; disassembles molds, jigs, and fixtures, then reassembles when repaired
Reads and understands blueprints as required to create and build new fixtures, and machine parts
Uses computer-aided design (CAD/CAM) software to create designs and/or turn designs into blueprints
Inspects completed molds for signs of imperfection or damage that may affect functionality
Regularly tests all equipment, tools, and machines to ensure they are arranged and set properly and working efficiently
Modifies machines to control speed, material feed, or path of cut as required to ensure a quality product is produced within specifications
Maintains a safe, clean, and well-organized workspace

Education
High school diploma or equivalent required
Successful completion of an apprentice program or experience in the field preferred
Knowledge & Skill Requirements
Excellent verbal and written communication
Strong analytical and problem-solving
Ability to safely and accurately operate all measuring and production equipment
Working understanding of geometry, trigonometry, and algebra
Ability to work collaboratively and independently
Advanced troubleshooting skills
Understanding of safety and equipment procedures
Common operating systems
Software proficiency
