This position will have the opportunity to interact with cross-functional partners as well as interact with our Strategic Sourcing partners and Key Mill/Trim base. The fabric associate will report directly to the Fabric R&D Sr. Manager and work alongside a team of designers with a focus on design trends, sourcing, and innovation.What You'll Do | Key AccountabilitiesSupport the R&D manager in following up with design, production, mills, and vendors on outstanding fabric data to ensure on time delivery.Review all seasonal fabric and trim developments with Director and Manager to ensure proper allocation and development of fabric and trims to meet designs vision, merchandising requirements, and corporate goals. Work with Manager to troubleshoot and resolve development and bulk issues effectively.Proactively track labdips, handlooms, knitdowns, sample yardage and trim development ready dates and report statuses regularly to managers to meet calendar deadlines.Filing/Organizing labdips, handlooms, knit downs, fabric and trim submits.Assist in entering and maintaining fabric and trim information in PLM and fabric development charts.Upload Fabric and Trim Development SheetsMaintain fabric and trim library, manage receipt of new fabric selections and file accordingly.Receive packages containing fabric submissions and pull appropriate standards to review with Director and or ManagerAssist manager with special sourcing projects across all fabric and trim initiatives.Skills & ExperiencePreferably 2-3 years of experience in fabric and design or relevant experience in a similar position for a fashion companyBasic knowledge of fiber, yarn, fabric structure, finishing and textile science with an emphasis on knits and wovensHigh attention to detailAbility to clearly articulate goals and objectives, to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.Must have a proactive attitude, strong organizational and multitasking skills ability under deadlines.Must be proficient with Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and PLM.Efficient written and oral communication skills - ability to communicate clearly and concisely to cross-functional teams, sourcing partners, mills, and trim sources.Work Environment, Physical & Mental DemandsAbility to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of timeAbility to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist, and reach dailyAble to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionallyMust utilize visual acuity, speech and hearing, hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer and office equipmentBenefitsThis role is eligible for healthcare including medical, dental and vision, retirement savings (401k with a company match), income protection programs such as life, accident and disability insurance, paid time off for sick leave, vacation, bereavement, jury duty, and holidays, wellbeing program, commuter, adoption assistance, education assistance, legal services, and employee merchandise discounts. We take into consideration an individual's skills, background, and experience in determining final salary.
