Project Manager - Meter Services

Role Description An experienced and driven Project Manager is needed to lead a fast-growing Meter Services Division. This is a dual-mandate role: the Project Manager will take immediate ownership of active meter service contracts while simultaneously building the infrastructure, team, and processes needed to scale the meter services practice across core markets. Key Responsibilities Project Execution Oversee and manage current meter service contracts, ensuring on-time, on-budget deliveryManage daily field operations: crew deployment, production tracking, QA/QC, subcontractor coordination, and equipment utilizationServe as the primary client liaison for public utility contacts; maintain proactive communication on schedule, issues, and deliverablesEnsure compliance with all contract requirements, safety regulations, and utility standardsPrepare and submit progress reports, as-built documentation, and invoicing packages to support timely billingDivision Building Develop standard operating procedures, production standards, and QC protocols for the meter services divisionBuild and manage the field workforce, including hiring, onboarding, performance management, and retention of skilled techniciansWork closely with leadership and the estimating team to support business development, proposal preparation, and bid pricing for future meter contractsTrack division P&L, labor productivity, and job costs; identify and act on opportunities to improve margins and efficiencyEstablish subcontractor and vendor relationships to support surge capacity and geographic expansionMaintain awareness of the competitive landscape and emerging opportunities in Georgia and the broader SoutheastQualifications Required About 10 years of project management experience in water/wastewater infrastructure, utility services, or a related civil/mechanical fieldExperience with meter services to water utilities and municipalitiesDemonstrated track record managing meter installation, replacement, service line, or distribution system projects for municipal or county utilitiesStrong understanding of field operations: crew management, production metrics, material/equipment logistics, and site safetyProficiency with contract administration, change order management, and client reportingWillingness to travel regularly across the Mid-Atlantic region and to Southeast project sitesExcellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to represent the company in client-facing settingsPreferred Prior experience on contracts with municipalities or water utilities in core marketsExperience with gas utilitiesExperience hiring and developing field crews from the ground upFamiliarity with compliance requirements and reporting obligationsProject Management Institute PMP, NASSCO, or other relevant utility/infrastructure certificationsCompensation & Benefits A competitive compensation package commensurate with experience is offered, including base salary, performance-based incentives tied to division growth, and a comprehensive benefits package.
