This role involves operating heavy equipment, assisting with plant maintenance, and completing physical tasks necessary to ensure continuous and safe operation of aggregate processing equipment, and acts as a mentor to others.Main Responsibilities:Embrace the Company's safety culture, actively support all safety initiatives, and adhere to defined accountabilities implemented by the Simon Steering and Continuous Improvement teamsSupport, promote, and practice the Company core values, vision, and mission; follow code of ethics, workplace conduct, safety, and other established policiesObserve safety procedures, report potentially unsafe conditions, and use equipment and materials properly; acts as a mentor to others and leads by exampleCommunicate professionally with others in person, over the phone, and on company radio channelsOperate heavy equipment, including, but not limited to, bulldozers, motor graders, loaders, skid steers, excavators, water trucks, telehandlers, and service/pickup trucks used in aggregate mining and production operations; operate other tools and equipment as required for assigned tasksGrade and maintain mine roadways and work areas, maintain surge pile, and prep blast areasMove shot rock and load jaw crusher feederMove and stockpile material, load trucks, operate scale, and handle order tickets to support sales yard operationsOperates salt-sand plantPerform manual/physical tasks required in plant operation and maintenance activitiesWork closely with plant operators, drivers, and others to ensure efficient and safe mining and plant operation in support of efficient materials productionPerform pre-operational inspection of equipment and detect mechanical and/or safety issuesPerform mobile equipment maintenance, including lubrication, replacing oil/fluids, re-fueling, and cleaning; assist with minor equipment repair tasksAssist with plant/crusher equipment maintenance, repair and troubleshootingAssist with training/mentoring others regarding mobile equipment, mining, and plant production operationsEducation:High school diploma or equivalent preferredMSHA certification or ability to obtain certification requiredValid drivers' license with ability to maintain a clean driving history requiredSkills:5+ years of relevant experience and/or equivalent combination of training/experience in a similar roleMechanical skill and experience with mobile equipment and plant equipment maintenance; basic welding experienceProficiency in operation of most/all industrial and heavy equipment used in the operation, including but not limited to skid steers, D9 bulldozer, 330L excavator w/ attachments, 903/980K/988H loaders, water truck, telehandler forklift, service/pickup trucksProficiency with mobile devices and other technology used in daily operationsAbility to read and interpret signage and/or written instructions (safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, etc.)Ability to problem-solve and recommend solutionsAbility to work in a team environment and identify tasks and objectives independently with limited supervisionAbility to interact professionally with others and clearly communicate informationPhysical Requirements:Wears and maintains required PPE (personal protective equipment) to ensure safe performance of job responsibilities as requiredRegularly uses hands to handle tools, equipment, and materials necessary for completing operational tasks safely and efficientlyRegularly communicate (talk and hear) to support safe coordination, instruction, and teamwork in the work environmentRegularly stands for extended periods and moves across various surfaces or terrain to access different work areas and complete assigned tasksRegularly works in changing environmental conditions (such as outdoor weather, dust, or airborne particles) due to the nature of operational work sitesRegularly works near fuels, oils, and other common workplace chemicals associated with operating or supporting equipment and machineryFrequently lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds with or without assistance to handle materials, tools, equipment, or documents essential to the roleFrequently stands, walks, sits, reaches, and stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls to access work areas and complete required tasksFrequently works in environments that may include loud noise, moving equipment, dust, or varying indoor/outdoor conditions depending on operational needsOccasionally works at heights or near electrical hazards when tasks require elevated access or proximity to electrical componentsAbility to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and overtime;
