Sous Chef

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Full-Time Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team at Fumée. As a Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Executive Chef to ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen and assist in leading the culinary team to deliver high-quality food and exceptional dining experiences. You will play a key role in maintaining kitchen standards, managing food preparation, and overseeing kitchen staff while fostering a positive and efficient work environment. Key Responsibilities: Assist the Executive Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring food is prepared and served according to restaurant standards. Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring consistency and excellence in food preparation and presentation. Help manage kitchen inventory, ordering, and ensuring that the kitchen is well-stocked and organized. Collaborate with the Executive Chef to create and innovate menu items that align with the restaurant’s concept. Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, food sanitation, and workplace cleanliness. Maintain a high standard of food quality and taste, ensuring all dishes are served promptly and at the correct temperature. Assist in scheduling kitchen staff and managing labor costs to maintain efficiency and profitability. Work with the front-of-house staff to ensure smooth communication and a seamless guest experience. Handle food preparation for large events and private dining experiences as needed.
