LEGAL ASSISTANTOmaha Office (Regency) | Full-TimeSchedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PMWoods Aitken LLP is seeking a collaborative, enthusiastic, and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our Labor and Employment Law team in our Omaha office.The ideal candidate will be highly organized, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities while supporting both case management and administrative aspects of a busy practice. Candidates with prior legal experience and/or certification are encouraged to apply.ResponsibilitiesDrafting, proofreading, and formatting correspondence, pleadings, discovery, and other legal documentsManaging case files and document organization, including electronic filing in state and federal courtsMaintaining attorney calendars, including court deadlines, and meetingsEnsuring docket entries in the firm’s practice management system (LMS) are accurately reflected on the attorney’s calendarConducting conflict checks and preparing engagement letters for new mattersScheduling meetings and sending invitations internally and externally via Outlook, Teams and ZoomPrinting and organizing documents for attorney review as requestedCommunicating professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and outside organizationsAssisting with administrative support tasks including time entry, billing coordination, and expense reportingCollaborating with other assistants, paralegals, and attorneys to ensure seamless case managementWhat We’re Looking ForThe ideal candidate is:Professional demeanor, discretion, and strong commitment to client serviceOrganized and detail-oriented, with the ability to juggle multiple prioritiesProactive and takes initiative to anticipate needs of attorneys A strong communicator with excellent verbal and written skillsTech-comfortable and willing to learn new systems and processesReliable, highly responsive, resourceful, and team-orientedAbility to work independently as well as part of a collaborative teamFlexible and adaptable; enjoys fast paced workQualifications2+ years of legal support experience preferred (law firm or corporate legal setting)Knowledge of legal terminology, court procedures, and e-filing systemsStrong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and document management systemsFamiliarity with Copilot or other AI toolsExperience with legal practice management/time & billing systems preferredJob RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredAbility to work full-time, in-office, Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM unless otherwise arrangedAbility to lift and carry up to 20 pounds as needed for moving file boxes as neededAbility to perform tasks that may require frequent movement between workstations, conference rooms, and common areasAbility to effectively carryout seated computer-based responsibilities for extended periods and work at a computerAbility to communicate clearly in person, by phone, and in writingReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this role.Why This Role MattersOur legal assistants play a critical role in the success of our attorneys and the service we provide to clients.
