Blue Marble Geographics is seeking to hire a 3D web software developer with experience using visualization technologies such as WebGL, Canvas, and the threejs API to display very large GIS datasets. The successful candidate will have a proven ability to develop high-quality code in a team environment. Development tasks will require an intimate familiarity with modern web development frameworks, 3D data viewer technology, and a strong familiarity with Cloud-based architecture and infrastructure. Successful candidates will be able to interact with customers and peers in various technical situations. This is a great project working on a web-based 3D visualization and analysis engine for a leading commercial GIS product. Requirements of this Role: Web development using HTML5 and Javascript Visualizing complex 3D GIS datasets in a web-based architecture such as WebGL, Canvas, and the threejs API Java, C#, or C++, and OpenGL development Web development using .NET WebAssembly platforms. Experience in GIS is desired; strong mathematical/spatial skills will be equally considered. Preferred working knowledge of Azure Cloud-based infrastructure. Proven ability to analyze, optimize, and implement large projects. This job description may be updated as needed to reflect tasks relevant to the goals of the department. Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent technical academic background with in-field experience. Three or more years of working experience as a primary developer in a web-based Front-End environment are required.
