We are opening a new campus facility that will have two of our businesses (Marley and Ingenia Technologies) evolving and growing together at SPX's very first campus.Responsibilities What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities) Assemble, adjust, and install prefabricated parts to manufacture air handling systemsPerform the various adjustments, settings, and fine-tuning operations necessary for assemblyInterpret blueprints, assembly drawings, bills of material, and engineering revisions accuratelyAssemble and install mechanical, structural, and modular system components including fan sections,coils, dampers, filter systems, access sections, electrical mounting components, and related assemblyIndependently assemble complete custom air handling units from start to finish using engineering drawings, specifications, and build ordersAssist with assembly of fan sections, coil sections, filter sections, dampers, and related air handling system componentsEarn and apply proper assembly, fastening, sealing, gasketing, and fit-up techniques required for air handling equipmentUtilize hand tools, pneumatic tools, measuring devices, and standard assembly equipment safely and effectivelyOperate overhead cranes, forklifts, man lifts, and material handling equipment safely and in accordance with company proceduresPerform basic troubleshooting and resolve simple assembly or fit-up issues while escalating more complex issues appropriatelyMaintain clean, organized, and safe work areas in accordance with company standardsParticipate in cross-training activities to develop skills across multiple assembly stations and processes Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and quality standardsSupport continuous improvement initiatives and assist in improving assembly efficiency and workflowPerform additional duties as assignedWhat We Are Looking For (Required/Ideal Experience, Skills, Education)Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn mechanical assembly processesAbility to follow work instructions, assembly drawings, and verbal direction accuratelyAbility to perform basic assembly, fastening, sealing, and fit-up activitiesAbility to identify and communicate basic assembly issues or material concerns appropriatelyAbility to safely utilize hand tools, pneumatic tools, measuring devices, and standard assembly equipmentAbility to operate overhead cranes, forklifts, man lifts, and material handling equipment safely and effectivelyAbility to develop blueprint reading and assembly interpretation skillsAbility to learn modular assembly processes and air handling system configurationsAbility to maintain quality and attention to detail while meeting developing productivity expectationsAbility to work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environmentAbility to adapt to changing production schedules and work assignmentsAbility to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environmentStrong commitment to safety, quality, teamwork, attendance, and continuous improvementWillingness to participate in cross-training and skill development activitiesRequired Experience & SkillsHigh school diploma or GED preferredPrevious manufacturing, mechanical assembly, construction, fabrication, or industrial experience preferredBasic mechanical aptitude requiredPrevious experience using hand tools, pneumatic tools, or measuring devices preferredAbility to learn blueprint reading and assembly processes requiredForklift, crane, or man lift certification preferredAbility to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment requiredStrong commitment to safety and quality standards requiredThe physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
