Program Overview This program delivers mission-critical systems engineering, software integration, and cybersecurity capabilities that sustain and modernize the operational environment for USCG Systems. A key element of this effort is a disciplined, acquisition-aligned test and evaluation (T&E) program that validates system performance, ensures requirements traceability, and reduces deployment risk. The Test Engineer III leads the design and execution of automated and performance testing strategies that verify functionality, scalability, and reliability across complex software and hardware environments. This role supports all acquisition test phases and ensures test activities are fully integrated with systems engineering, development, and cybersecurity processes. Position Overview We are seeking a highly experienced Test Engineer III to design, develop, and execute automated regression testing and load/performance testing for mission-critical systems. This position is responsible for developing test strategies, selecting and implementing test tools, executing test events, managing test-related risk, and producing acquisition-quality test documentation. The selected candidate will work across the full system lifecycle, from requirements analysis through system verification and deployment readiness, ensuring all capabilities are validated against operational needs. Key ResponsibilitiesTest Strategy, Planning & Documentation Develop and maintain: Test strategies Test and evaluation master plans Detailed test procedures Test reports and readiness assessments Ensure test artifacts support acquisition milestones and program reviews. Establish traceability between requirements, test cases, and verification results. Automated & Performance Testing Design and implement automated regression test frameworks using: Python Selenium Equivalent automation tools Develop and execute load and performance tests to: Validate system scalability Identify performance bottlenecks Ensure operational reliability under mission conditions. Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines where applicable. Test Execution & Risk Management Conduct system-level testing for complex software and hardware integrations. Direct and/or participate in all phases of testing, including: Developmental Test & Evaluation (DT&E) Integration testing System testing User acceptance support Perform test-related risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies. Requirements Analysis & Test Design Analyze user and system requirements to: Define test objectives Develop test scenarios and cases Select appropriate test tools and methodologies. Ensure verification activities align with operational mission needs. Data Analysis & Reporting Analyze test results and system behavior. Identify defects, performance gaps, and integration issues. Provide clear, actionable reports to: Systems engineering Development teams Government stakeholders. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with: Systems engineers Software developers Cybersecurity engineers Configuration management Integration teams Support test readiness reviews and program technical reviews. Education & Experience Requirements Education: Baccalaureate Degree in: Engineering Engineering Science or a closely related technical discipline Experience: Minimum nine (9) years of experience in: Test design Development engineering Systems test and evaluation or a related field.
