Datacenter Technician ILocation: Sparks, NV Contract Duration: Ongoing contract Schedule: Day Shift | Monday-Friday | 7:00 AM - 5:00 PMPosition OverviewWe are seeking a Data Center Technician I to support structured cabling and network infrastructure projects within a large-scale data center environment. This role is hands-on and ideal for candidates with foundational experience in low-voltage cabling, copper and fiber installations, and data center operations. The technician will work under the direction of senior technical staff and operations leadership while adhering to safety, quality, and performance standards.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesPerform installation and decommissioning of network and cabling infrastructure within data center environmentsSupport structured cabling projects for enterprise and cloud infrastructureInstall, connect, and decommission network equipmentInstall ladder racking and seismic bracing above and below raised floorsPull, route, dress, and label all types of low-voltage copper and fiber cablingPerform copper and fiber termination, testing, and troubleshootingConduct fusion splicing (single fiber and ribbon) and dress/furcate fiber trunksOperate and program test equipment such as DSX 5000 and OTDR testersDownload, save, verify, and submit test results using LinkWare / LinkWare LiveCreate and apply mass labels per port maps; differentiate live vs. decommissioned cablesPerform service swaps on live networking devices with attention to uptime and safetyRead, interpret, and mark up blueprints, floor plans, and design documentationMaintain clean, organized workspaces and accurate project documentationProvide structured status updates and feedback to project stakeholdersCollaborate with technicians, leads, and operations staff to resolve project obstaclesFollow all safety, production, quality standards, and industry best practicesUtilize asset tracking systems and databases (e.g., FIM systems, scanners)Required QualificationsOSHA 10 certification (required)Some experience working in data center environmentsProficiency with basic telecommunications and low-voltage hand toolsUnderstanding of copper and fiber cabling systems and testing methodologiesAbility to perform field terminations, labeling, and cable dressingFamiliarity with industry wiring standards, wiring schemes, and testing proceduresAbility to read and understand floor plans, blueprints, and design documentsReporting StructureReports to Operations ManagerReceives daily direction from Technician II, Lead Technicians, Senior and Advanced Senior Technicians Beacon Hill is an equal opportunity employer and individuals with disabilities and/or protected veterans are encouraged to apply.California residents: Qualified applications with arrest or conviction records will be considered for employment in accordance with the Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers and the California Fair Chance Act.If you would like to complete our voluntary self-identification form, please click here or copy and paste the following link into an open window in your browser: https://jobs.beaconhillstaffing.com/eeoc/Completion of this form is voluntary and will not affect your opportunity for employment, or the terms or conditions of your employment.
