Exchange Connectivity Developer

Our client is seeking an experienced Exchange Connectivity Developer to join our high-performance engineering team in New York.You will be responsible for designing, building and maintaining ultra-low latency exchange connectivity for global cryptocurrency markets, working closely with traders and quantitative researchers to deliver reliable, high-performance execution infrastructure.ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop low-latency exchange connectivity for cryptocurrency venues.Implement and maintain FIX and native binary exchange protocols.Optimise market data and order entry performance.Improve resiliency, monitoring and failover capabilities.Collaborate with trading, quantitative research and infrastructure teams.Support onboarding of new exchanges and trading venues.Diagnose production issues and continuously improve system performance.Requirements2–7 years of software engineering experience.Strong C++ development skills.Experience developing exchange connectivity for electronic trading.Deep understanding of FIX protocol and exchange APIs.Experience working within HFT, proprietary trading or crypto trading firms.Knowledge of TCP/IP networking, Linux and performance optimisation.Excellent problem-solving skills.PreferredExperience with crypto exchange connectivity.Experience with native binary protocols.Understanding of market microstructure.Experience working in latency-sensitive environments.Preferred BackgroundHigh-frequency trading firmsCrypto market makersElectronic trading technology firmsNotice PeriodIdeally available within six months or less.
