Material Handler

Material Handler As a Material Handler, you will play a vital role in our production process by pulling and staging materials based on work orders and schedules. You will transport materials within the facility using forklifts when necessary and ensure the proper handling techniques are followed. Your responsibilities will include maintaining accurate records of material transactions, organizing bins and work centers efficiently, and preparing for physical inventory. You will work closely with warehouse and production teams to prevent material shortages and delays, while ensuring that all materials are handled safely and disposed of in compliance with company policies.Responsibilities:Pull and stage materials for production based on work orders and schedules.Load, unload, and transport materials within the facility using forklifts when needed.Maintain accurate records of material transactions in the inventory system.Replenish assembly materials through simulations, ordering, and pulling kits based on sales orders and production schedule.Organize bins and work centers efficiently, ensuring consistent labeling and utilization of floor space.Prepare for and participate in physical inventory.Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments for accuracy and quality.Safely handle and dispose of hazardous materials in compliance with company policies.Collaborate with warehouse and production teams to prevent material shortages and delays.Identify and report damaged or defective materials to the appropriate personnel.Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.Deliver raw materials and components to production areas as needed.Essential Skills:Experience in general labor and material handling.Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.Understanding of warehouse and inventory management principles.Knowledge of safe material handling practices and equipment operation.Familiarity with ERP systems for tracking inventory transactions.Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Good communication and teamwork skills.Additional Skills & Qualifications:Experience working with metals.Ability to lift, carry, and move materials safely.Skills in cycle counting, automotive manufacturing, picking, and packing.Why Work Here?Join a team that values collaboration and safety, offering a supportive work environment where you can thrive. You should be able to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment up to 40 lbs, with occasional lifting of heavier items with assistance. Expect to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and squat for extended periods during a shift. The work environment includes exposure to hot and cold temperatures, moderate to high noise levels, welding fumes, dust, and airborne particles. You will be required to use personal protective equipment such as welding helmets, gloves, and protective clothing. Strict adherence to safety procedures is necessary to mitigate exposure to sparks, molten metal, and moving machinery.Job Type & Location:This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Riverside, CA.Pay and Benefits:The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
