About Hilde B FoundationAt the Hilde B Foundation, we believe domestic violence prevention must extend beyond crisis response.We work at the intersection of education, technology, and survivor-centered policy advocacy with the long-term goal of ending domestic violence through social and technical advancement.One of the ways we build visibility and impact is by submitting public testimony, letters of support, and policy statements on domestic violence-related legislation across U.S. states.We are now expanding our volunteer policy-writing team.What You’ll DoAs a Policy Testimonial & Legislative Advocacy Associate, you will help identify, research, and draft testimony or support statements for state-level domestic violence legislation.Examples may include:* survivor protection bills* coercive control legislation* stalking and harassment reforms* digital safety protections* restraining order modernization* education and prevention initiativesResponsibilities may include:* Monitoring state legislative sessions* Identifying bills aligned with our mission* Drafting testimony or support letters* Summarizing legislation for internal review* Helping maintain policymaker and committee trackers* Researching submission deadlines and hearing proceduresYou do not need prior lobbying experience.Strong writing, research ability, judgment, and professionalism matter most.Ideal BackgroundsThis role may be especially interesting for:* Public policy students* Law students* Researchers* Writers and editors* Nonprofit volunteers* Government affairs professionals* Social science or political science graduates* Survivors or advocates passionate about systemic changeTime CommitmentFlexible and remote.Typical commitment is approximately 2–5 hours per week.Some weeks may involve active testimony drafting during legislative sessions, while others may be lighter.Why This Role MattersOur objective is not only to support good legislation.We also aim to build long-term relationships and credibility with policymakers, committees, and advocacy stakeholders across the United States.Over time, we hope this network can help shape future survivor-centered legislation more directly.What You’ll Gain* Real-world policy advocacy experience* Legislative research and writing experience* Exposure to nonprofit strategy and public-interest advocacy* Recommendation/reference opportunities for active contributors* A chance to help shape survivor-centered public policyRemote • Volunteer • Flexible HoursIf interested, please apply via LinkedIn or message us directly.
