VPK Teacher
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate VPK (Voluntary Prekindergarten) Teacher to join our early childhood education team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fostering a nurturing, engaging, and educational environment for preschool-aged children, supporting their developmental milestones and preparing them for future academic success. This role requires a strong understanding of childhood development, classroom management, and curriculum implementation to ensure a positive learning experience for all students.
Duties
Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum aligned with early childhood education standards, including literacy, math, physical education, and social-emotional learning.
Plan and execute engaging lesson plans that promote cognitive, social, and emotional development.
Manage classroom activities to create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment for children.
Support children with special needs through individualized instruction and early intervention strategies.
Monitor and assess student progress using standardized testing methods and provide feedback to parents and guardians.
Incorporate Montessori or other educational philosophies as appropriate to enhance learning outcomes.
Maintain accurate records of attendance, developmental milestones, and behavioral observations.
Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and specialists to support each child's welfare and educational growth.
Ensure compliance with childcare regulations and safety standards at all times.
Engage in ongoing professional development related to childhood development, classroom management, and teaching methodologies.
Skills
Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and early intervention techniques.
Experience with curriculum development tailored to preschool children, including literacy education and math instruction.
Proficiency in classroom management strategies to foster positive behavior management and create an effective learning environment.
Familiarity with special education needs, behavior management techniques, and classroom experience working with diverse learners.
Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with children, parents, colleagues, and administrators.
Ability to plan lessons that incorporate physical education, tutoring, or additional subjects like science or social studies as needed.
Experience working in daycare settings or private schools is preferred; Montessori or preschool experience is a plus.
Knowledge of standardized testing procedures relevant to early childhood assessment tools.
Ability to adapt teaching methods for toddlers care or preschool-aged students while maintaining high standards of child welfare.
