This position is responsible for preparing and maintaining the sterile field, anticipating surgeon needs, handling instruments and implants efficiently, and supporting safe, high-quality care throughout the surgical process.Key responsibilitiesPrepare and maintain the sterile field for all assigned casesSet up operating rooms with instruments, implants, equipment, and supplies needed for orthopedic proceduresAnticipate the needs of the surgeon and surgical team throughout each caseProficiently handle orthopedic instruments, implants, and specialty equipmentMaintain sterile technique and adhere to all infection prevention and patient safety standardsAssist with room turnover and support efficiency in a high-volume surgical environmentCollaborate closely with nurses, anesthesia providers, sterile processing, and fellow surgical techs to ensure smooth case flowPerform surgical counts and follow facility protocols to support patient safetyInspect instruments and equipment for cleanliness, function, and readinessAssist with stocking, organization, and overall supply readiness as neededQualificationsGraduate of an accredited Surgical Technology programCurrent Certified Surgical Technologist credential required or strongly preferred, depending on your hiring requirementMinimum of 2 years of orthopedic surgical experience in an ASC or hospital OR requiredCurrent BLS certification requiredStrong knowledge of orthopedic instruments, implants, and surgical equipmentStrong understanding of sterile technique and operating room workflowAbility to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detailProfessional, dependable, and team-oriented with a positive attitudeWe are looking for a Surgical Technician who is confident in the OR, works well with others, and understands the pace and expectations of a busy orthopedic surgery center.
