MQ-4C Payloads Field Service Engineer

PGS Worldwide is seeking an MQ-4C Payloads Field Service Engineer in Jacksonville, FL for a six-month contract role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.The MQ-4C Payloads Field Service Engineer will support the Triton program by providing operations and maintenance support for sensors, communications systems, and payloads at a Forward Operating Base. This role requires hands-on Linux troubleshooting, payload or communications experience, active Secret clearance, and the ability to complete initial domestic training before final assignment in Mayport, FL.Required SkillsBachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 5+ years of related engineering experience, master's degree in a STEM discipline with 3+ years of related engineering experience, or PhD in a STEM discipline with 1+ year of related engineering experience.For senior-level consideration: bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 8+ years of related engineering experience, master's degree in a STEM discipline with 6+ years of related engineering experience, or PhD in a STEM discipline with 3+ years of related engineering experience.Active DoD Secret clearance that is in-scope or currently enrolled in Continuous Evaluation.Ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI clearance within a reasonable timeframe.Ability to obtain and maintain program access, including SAP/PAR.Ability to obtain and maintain DoD 8140 approved IAT Level II or higher certification, such as Security+ CE, CCNA Security, CCNP, or CISSP.Competence with Linux.Troubleshooting experience using engineering documents, tools, and equipment.Familiarity with payload operations and/or communications/networking operations.Willingness and ability to complete 6+ months of required training in San Diego, CA, with some travel to other U.S. locations such as Baltimore, MD and Jacksonville, FL.Ability to work full-time onsite.Ability to travel up to 10% after initial training.Preferred SkillsActive DoD Top Secret clearance with background investigation within the past 6 years or enrollment in Continuous Evaluation.Active DoD 8140 approved IAT Level II or higher certification.Understanding of MQ-4C sensors and communications payloads.Experience with test equipment such as network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators.MPO/TC operator system knowledge.System administrator experience.Operations and maintenance experience at a field site.Experience with MFAS radar, EO/IR systems, airborne recorders, Link 16, networks, voice communications, payload troubleshooting, sensor support, and flight operations support.What You'll DoProvide real-time support to flight operations and maintenance teams.Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to communications systems and payloads, including MFAS radar, EO/IR, airborne recorder, and Link 16.Perform fault isolation, remediation, and technical resolution for supported systems.Coordinate work with site leadership and confirm Maintenance Action Forms are in place for required work.Follow checklists and procedures to support repeatable mission success.Provide redlines to procedures when updates are needed.Communicate complex technical issues to local support teams, the Degrader Action Cell, Main Operating Bases, and Responsible Engineers.Support and lead air crew engagement for technical problem-solving during operations.Assist Responsible Engineers with trend analysis as needed.Assist AVO with Main Operating Base voice communications, networks, and other interfaces.Build and apply expertise across supported sensor and communications systems.Work Schedule / ShiftFull-time onsite role.Initial 9/80 schedule.As the program matures, shifts may become 12-hour shifts and may include nights, weekends, and/or holidays.Initial training assignment: 6+ months in San Diego, CA, with some travel to Baltimore, MD and Jacksonville, FL.Final assignment location: Mayport / Jacksonville, FL.Travel up to 10% after initial training.Pay$136.35/hourJob ID: 1327Military veterans and transitioning military members are encouraged to apply to all PGS Worldwide positions.
