Our client has been in business since 1944 and have a large labor force of skilled craftsman with a full support staff of professionals who comprise of engineering, project management, QA, EHS, accounting, contracts, and human resources.Job SummaryThe Ship Superintendent supports the planning, coordination, and execution of ship repair work items, working closely with internal teams, subcontractors, OEM representatives, and customers to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within scope. This role requires the ability to interpret ship repair specifications and drawings, assist with labor cost estimating, and operate effectively in an industrial maritime environment while maintaining strong communication and teamwork skills.Job DescriptionManage, plan, and coordinate ship repair work items as part of the Project TeamCoordinate with other departments (QA, safety, production), subcontractors, OEM technical reps, and customers throughout the repairBe capable of reading and understanding ship repair specification, drawings, schematicsAssist with labor cost estimatingBe comfortable in an industrial, maritime environmentBe a good communicator and a team playerSkills RequiredPMP certification desirableKnowledge and understanding federal contracts is helpfulKnowledge of shipboard lockout and tag out proceduresPrevious experience or training in work sequencing and schedulingExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and general computer skillsEducation/Training/CertificationsEngineering degree or related or equivalent work experience is desirableAdditional RequirementsMust show proof of legal right to work in the United States and US Citizenship due to security clearance required for base accessMust be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)Must be able to obtain a Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) Credential to gain access to federally controlled work sitesAll candidates must submit to and pass a post-offer drug screening and background check before employment begins.Valid State of Hawaii REAL ID-Compliant Drivers' License in good standing or a valid U.S. Passport in addition to a valid Hawaii Driver's License, if you do not have a REAL ID-Compliant Driver's License, class 3 or higherCandidates must have access to reliable transportation to get to work and other job sites on time for the start of shiftMust be flexible in work hours
