FABRICATION PLANT MANAGER
The Fabrication Plant Manager is responsible for leading all shop floor execution to deliver production safely, efficiently, and in alignment with the established production plan. This role owns daily operational performance, including labor utilization, throughput, quality, and safety, ensuring that production is executed consistently against schedule. Working in close partnership with Safety, Quality & Production Control, the Plant Manager proactively identifies and escalates constraints, aligns resources, and operations are disciplined to achieve schedule adherence and on-time delivery.
Assignment of Functions and Responsibilities
Manage and supervise all aspects of plant operations including production execution and workforce performance
Execute production in alignment with established priorities not allowing for independent reprioritization of work
Drive, implement, and sustain 5S standards, leading improvement activities with Production Supervisors and team leads
Execute production activities in alignment with the established production schedule, ensuring deadlines are met without compromising quality or safety
Provide clear input to production plans giving guidance on constraints and plans for mitigation activities
Monitor plant performance, analyze data, and make improvements to enhance productivity and reduce waste including direct labor utilization, efficiency improvements
Lead and develop plant staff, including training, performance evaluations, and conflict resolution
Collaborate with Production Control and cross-functional teams (EH&S, Quality, Engineering, HR, & Materials) to ensure smooth workflow and production readiness
Maintain budgets, track expenses, and drive cost-saving initiatives
Support production readiness by ensuring labor and equipment are aligned with Production Control requirements
Develop and enforce plant policies and procedures to ensure a consistent and productive work environment
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve operational issues, implementing timely and sustainable corrective actions
Identify and escalate production constraints impacting schedule adherence, partnering with Production Control to implement recovery actions
