Job Title: Electrical Engineer IILocation: Olive Township, onsite 5 days/week (M–F, day shift) Department: J.H. Campbell Power Plant — Coal-Fired Generation Hiring Manager: Nathan Hoffman Additional Manager: Garrett Jackson Per Diem: $550 weekly (for non-local candidates) Travel/Onsite: Fully onsite; occasional emergent support on weekends Priority: Highest priority role compared to MEII and CEII openingsPosition Summary:The Electrical Engineer II will provide technical support for daily operations, reliability, and minor upgrade projects at the J.H. Campbell coal-fired generation facility. This role focuses heavily on troubleshooting plant electrical systems, breaker operations/maintenance, and supporting compliance activities. The engineer will partner closely with union electricians and collaborate with onsite subject-matter experts while managing day-to-day electrical work orders and equipment investigations.Key Responsibilities:Perform advanced troubleshooting of plant electrical systems including 480V+, 4160V, and 6.9kV equipment. Interpret and work from one-line diagrams, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams. Support and perform tasks related to breaker operations, breaker maintenance, and associated system upgrades. Troubleshoot and maintain DC circuits, battery backup systems, and station service equipment. Conduct assessments of existing equipment, identify failure modes, and plan corrective actions or upgrades. Support NERC relay administration and compliance activities as required. Develop and manage day-to-day work orders, including research and documentation related to system issues. Collaborate with other onsite engineers and coordinate activities with union electricians during maintenance and project execution. Assist with minor design and project engineering within the power block for reliability and equipment improvements. Support multiple facilities as needed, with primary focus on J.H. Campbell operations. Required Skills & Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (required). 4–8 years of relevant experience. Experience in electrical generation power plants, utility power plants, or heavy industrial manufacturing environments. Strong knowledge of medium-voltage and high-voltage systems (480V+, 4160V, 6.9kV). Proficiency in troubleshooting using one-line diagrams, schematics, and equipment drawings. Hands-on experience with breaker operation and maintenance. Experience working with DC systems, including chargers, battery banks, and backup configurations. Ability to work collaboratively with union craft personnel and plant operations teams. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
