CLINICAL RESOURCE NURSE - HolyCross IPU (2 FT Evening)
Full-Time Hours: 4PM to 12AM (Alternating Weekends) Summary & ObjectiveThe Resource Nurse provides clinical support and guidance to nursing staff across assigned Inpatient Units or shifts. This role serves as a subject matter expert and clinical resource, promoting high quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and staff competency while supporting IPU operations as needed.Essential FunctionsActs as a clinical resource for nursing staff, guiding patient care, policies, and proceduresSupports nurses with complex patient and/or caregivers' care needsStrengthen clinical excellence in symptom management/end-of-life care transitionsCommunicate with physicians regarding patient progress and special circumstancesAssists with patient and/or resident chart audits to ensure accuracy and regulatory complianceConducts rounds during assigned shifts to monitor patient care and staff workflow in the EMRProvides real time education and coaching to nursing staff based on identified needsSupports patients' assessments using the nursing process and facility standardsAssists in the development and implementation of individualized plans of careEnsure supplies, medications, and equipment are properly stored and availableResponds to call lights and urgent clinical issues within the established timeframeAssists with documentation reviews to support:Regulatory compliancePlan of care accuracyInterdisciplinary communicationPromotes adherence to hospice policies, procedures, and standards*Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.Other DutiesAdministers medications and treatments in accordance with nursing policies and procedures.Provide orientation regularly to new employees.Attends and participates in Interdisciplinary Team Meetings (IDG) as required.Reports patients' and/or residents' condition to appropriate personnel during each shift.Floats to other IPUs assigned to meet patient care needs.Maintain your required licenses, certifications, and mandatory skill updates.Comply with all policies, local, state, and federal laws and regulations.Provide other duties of a healthcare team memberPerform other duties as assignedSupervisory ResponsibilityMay serve as an interim department leader depending on needPhysical RequirementsMust be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 250+ pounds, walk, climb stairs or ladders, stand on feet for extended periods of time, etc.DisclaimerThe job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive list of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee.
