Job Title: Labor Relations Coordinator V Location: Chicago, IL (Onsite) Duration: 8-Month Contract Pay Rate: $39.40/hour Position Overview: Client is seeking an experienced Labor Relations Coordinator V to support labor relations operations at the Chicago Bakery. This role is responsible for administering collective bargaining agreements, managing grievances, advising frontline leadership, ensuring labor law compliance, and maintaining productive union-management relationships. This position supports a 24/7 manufacturing operation, and occasional schedule flexibility may be required for off-shift investigations or labor-related matters. Key Responsibilities Contract Administration Interpret and administer collective bargaining agreements (CBAs). Advise managers and supervisors on CBA application and labor policies. Maintain accurate labor relations records, agreements, and documentation. Grievance & Dispute Resolution Manage grievance procedures, investigations, and response preparation. Represent the company in grievance meetings alongside leadership teams. Resolve disputes in a timely and effective manner. Monitor grievance trends and recommend proactive solutions. Union Relationship Management Build and maintain positive relationships with union representatives. Facilitate regular meetings with union leadership. Support joint initiatives and collaborative problem-solving efforts. Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, including the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA). Stay updated on labor law changes and best practices. Assist HR with policy development and implementation. Training & Communication: Deliver training for supervisors and managers on labor relations topics. Communicate effectively with employees and leadership regarding labor matters. Investigations & Reporting: Conduct investigations into employee complaints related to union matters. Maintain labor relations data including grievances and arbitrations. Prepare reports and presentations on key metrics. Qualifications: Required: Bachelor's degree in human resources, Labor Relations, or related field preferred. Multiple years of labour relations experience. Experience in a unionized manufacturing environment. Strong background in grievance handling, contract interpretation, and labor relations processes. Knowledge of labour laws including NLRA. Strong communication, analytical, and conflict resolution skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Preferred: Experience with collective bargaining negotiations. HRIS systems experience.
