Our client, an electric vehicle manufacturer company, is looking for someone to join their team as an Embedded Software Engineer. This role is onsite in Foster City, CA. This is a W2 contract budgeted until March 5, 2027 The team is looking for an Embedded Software Engineer to join the Autonomy Hardware Systems Validation & Verification team. In this role, you'll develop embedded software and automation tools that power safety-critical test infrastructure for autonomous systems. You'll collaborate across hardware and software teams to build sensor emulators, enhance validation frameworks, and ensure the reliability of cutting-edge embedded platforms.What You Will Be Doing Develop high-performance C++ applications for embedded Linux environmentsBuild Python automation frameworks to improve test execution and validationDesign and expand hardware/software sensor emulators and embedded test infrastructureIntegrate software with FPGA and ECU hardware using Ethernet, I2C, SPI, and CANTroubleshoot hardware and software issues while driving end-to-end verification and system reliabilityRequired Skills & ExperienceBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field4+ years of embedded software development experienceStrong C++ development experience in Linux, with a focus on low-latency, high-performance applicationsExperience with Linux system programming, networking, Python, and test automation (Pytest)Hands-on experience with embedded interfaces including Ethernet, I2C, SPI, and CANFamiliarity with Git, Bazel, GTest, and embedded hardware/software integrationPreferred Skills & Experience Linux kernel or device driver developmentExperience with ARM, Xilinx SDK, MPSoC, Yocto, or PetalinuxFPGA, SystemVerilog, or HDL verification experienceKnowledge of PCIe, MIPI CSI-2, Automotive Ethernet, or IEEE 1588/PTPAbility to read electronic schematics and familiarity with PCB design workflows
