Job Description
Salary: NegotiableGeneral Statement of Duties:Under the direction and supervision of the Clinical Supervisor, this position provides an array of training, support and activities of daily living services to individuals diagnosed with severe mental illness in the community setting. The position will provide first-line supervision for the program and the direct care staff. The position will also deliver direct-care services (up to 15 hrs. per client) to support clients with mental health problems within their home and community.Specific Duties with qualitative and quantitative measures of performanceReviewing weekly progress notes, checking for objectives matching with ISPs, and making sure there is no double billing or duplication of notes. Also responsible for checking for grammatical content and overall compliant documentation.Direct the development and implementation of diagnostic procedures; monitor them for consistent application within the program and compliance with state certification and established clinical standards.Coordinate the provision of treatment activities among program units for efficient application and beneficial impact on clients.Administer the quality assurance procedures for compliance with case record system and state certification standards, as well as Medicaid reimbursement guidelines.Consult with and train clinical staff in diagnostic and treatment procedures to increase knowledge and skill development.Clinically supervise selected professional clinical staff and interns, for specialized knowledge development, to meet requirements for professional licensure and/or to resolve clinical decision impasses.Maintain active case load of 1-2 clients and provide coverage for other staff as neededActively recruit for MHSB program through presentations and other marketing effortsPerform other job duties requiring skills, knowledge and physical requirements as demanded by those duties described or less. Individual assignments will be determined by the supervisor based on then current workloads and agency needs.Approved background checkTrained in agency-approved behavior intervention techniques, CPR, first aid, and human rightsSupervising 5-8 Mental Health SpecialistsMust be available to visit providers to acquire hospitalizations and essential documentationProvide screenings to insure eligibility of all prospective clientsProviding individual supervision for each MH Specialist managed, as well as assist with conducting of one group supervision per monthAssist with billing and authorizationsActively recruit for MHSB programProvide support for MH Specialist for weekly challenges with clientsThis position requires to maintain at least one-two clients on your caseload. These duties include:Consistently assessing clients levels of risk and carrying out their needs based on initial assessment based on Mental Health Skill Building 7 Core competencies.Facilitates care coordination with other service providers to enlist existing supports in determining and meeting service objectives and to identify additional resources and supportsPrepares written individualized service plans and treatment update Summaries-Quarterly and/or Monthly, incorporating input from clients, other service providers, wraparound team members to identify problem areas and needs, service objectives, and intervention strategiesPlanning, recommending and coordinating services that improve the level of independence and stability in the community to prevent substance abuse and to combat social problems.Responds to crisis situations on a twenty-four hour a day availabilityCompletes progress reports in reference to service delivery within 24 hoursCollaborating with physicians, therapist, psychiatrist, case manager, substance abuse provider to develop, plan and manage treatment.Referring client to other agencies for treatment/services to help in recovery from physical or mental illness.Monitoring, evaluating, and recording client progress with that of treatment goals.Participate in case supervision and training offered by agencyKnowledge, Skills, Abilities required for the position:Knowledge of mental health laws and regulations;Must meet requirements to be a QMHP-A and have an official QMHP-A license from the Board of CounselingMust have at least a minimum of 3 years of experience as a QMHP-AMust have at least 2 years of leadership/supervision experience in the Human Services Field (Counseling/Case Management, etc)Ability to maintain friendly public relations;Ability to deal with stress and effectively manage time;Ability to take initiatives, advocate for and decisions for the betterment of the clients;Should have strong writing and critical thinking skills;Strong Computer skillsSpecific Credentials (Licensure/Certifications): QMHP, LMHP, LCSW-Supervisee, LPC-ResidentMinimum Qualifications: (Education/experience/etc)Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field from an accredited college or university with a minimum three years of experience in the mental health field.Must meet the criteria to be a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP).
