DescriptionJob Title: Nurse PractitionerPosition Function: The Nurse Practitioner, Health Services, is directly responsible to the Director of Health Services for the coordination and completion of pre-employment health screenings and other related health services for Wichita Public Schools. This position is vital for ensuring compliance with district health protocols, supporting Human Resources in onboarding processes, and promoting safe and healthy work environments for all employees.Essential Performance ResponsibilitiesConducts pre-employment physical examinations and tb skin tests in accordance with district, state, and federal requirementsReviews medical histories and evaluates fitness for duty consistent with established guidelinesOrders, performs, and interprets appropriate diagnostic tests as required for employment clearanceDocuments and maintains accurate and confidential employee health records in compliance with HIPAA and district policiesSchedules and coordinates pre-employment screenings to ensure timely onboarding of new hiresServes as liaison between the Health Services Department and Human Resources regarding employment health requirementsCommunicates clearance status and follow-up requirements to Human Resources in a timely and professional mannerProvides guidance to HR and district administrators regarding employee health compliance mattersAssists in the development and implementation of health policies and proceduresSupports employee wellness initiatives and other health-related programs as assignedMaintains current knowledge of occupational health standards, immunization requirements, and public health regulationsEnsures compliance with OSHA regulations and other applicable workplace health standardsParticipates in department planning, evaluation, and continuous improvement effortsAdditional Duties: Assists with additional duties as assigned by the Director of Health Services May assist with health-related training, policy development, or special health initiatives as neededEquipment: This position may require the ability to use SMART boards and iPads in addition to basic office equipment such as computers, copiers, scanners, and fax machine. Employees must always comply with WPS guidelines for equipment use.
