Job Title: Drafter II
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Reports to: Senior Project Manager, CAD Team
Primary Purpose:
Under general direction prepare technical customer drawings, field erection drawings and bills of material utilizing computer-aided-drafting (CAD) equipment and software.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed drawings for the field assembly of prefabricated modular steel bridge and related products.
Partner with Project Manager on implementation of customer specifications, engineering instructions, standard engineering drafting procedures and/or references to similar completed projects.
Drawings are dimensioned in US Customary, Metric, or a combination of both units of measure.
Implement drawing modifications as necessary to complete a portion of a project or for entire project assignment.
Self-Check work product for completeness and accuracy.
Understand and adhere to all Acrow’s policies and applicable laws
Travel to other Acrow Locations or Customer sites as necessary
Perform other duties as required
Skills and Knowledge:
Demonstrated knowledge with AutoCAD LT or Mechanical computer-aided-drafting (CAD) ver. 2018 or higher software to prepare technical drawings in two-dimensional and three-dimensional views.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical data and job specifications and structural and civil drawings supplied by customers
Demonstrated knowledge of construction methods and practices
Ability to read and interpret documents such as spreadsheets, loading charts, product user manuals, and third-party supplier documentations.
Understanding of standard drafting terminology, abbreviations, symbols, dimensioning techniques, and standard drafting procedures.
Ability to design components and improve the process to fabricate the product
Ability to adapt to changing business or technical environments
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
Good written and verbal communication skills
Excellent attention to detail
Minimum Education and Experience:
Certification in Drafting and 2-4 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, skills and experience
Working Conditions:
Work is typically performed in an office environment which requires proper safety precautions. Work requires some physical effort in the handling of materials, boxes, or equipment.
