Licensed Master Social Worker (NY HELPS)

Duties Description Participates in all treatment team meetings, including initial assessment, case plan reviews, mappings, and discharge planning. Communicates with all staff regarding informational reports behavior contracts on the unit. Responsible for completing all appropriate paperwork for OPWDD applications, incarcerated individual discharge planning, and needs within ICP (and SNU, TRSNU as needed). Facilitate ICP groups as required. The incumbent will also assist with group coverage as needed in the following areas: SNU, diversion, and SOCTP. Communicates with supervisors, coworkers, outside agencies, and incarcerated individuals' families in a timely, professional manner. Complete ICP rounds daily and rounds in other areas as needed. Assist ICP participants in resolving problems and maintaining contacts with family members. Assume back up duties and other tasks, as assigned. Minimum Qualifications This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS). (*Please see below for further information).Non-Competitive Qualifications: Possession of a license and current registration as a Licensed Master Social Worker in New York State or Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York State.*For the duration of the NY HELPS Program, this title maybe filled via a non-competitive appointment, which means no examination is required but all candidates must meet the minimum qualifications of the title for which they apply.At a future date (within one year of permanent appointment), it is expected employees hired under NY HELPS will have their non-competitive employment status converted to competitive status, without having to complete in an examination. Employees will then be afforded with all of the same rights and privileges of competitive class employees of New York State.
