Bilingual in Japanese and English (required) Position: Production SupervisorLocation: Irvine CAIndustry: Food ManufacturingEmployment Type: Full-timeSalary: $60,000-$70,000Our client, a Japanese food manufacturing company is seeking a bilingual Production Supervisor to oversee daily food manufacturing operations. This role supervises production staff engaged in food processing, packaging, and shipping, ensuring production targets, quality standards, and safety requirements are met. The position requires both hands-on floor supervision and desk-based administrative responsibilities.Key ResponsibilitiesProduction Operations & SchedulingAnalyze work orders to estimate labor hours and create production schedules aligned with internal and customer deadlinesCalculate required stock and supplies based on production schedules and requisition materialsInterpret job specifications and assign duties to production staffOpen facility daily and ensure operational readinessMaintain production and time records Quality Control & ComplianceInspect and measure products to ensure compliance with specificationsVerify finished goods prior to shippingEstablish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedulesPromote and enforce safety and security procedures Process Improvement & EfficiencyDevelop and implement improvements to production methods, equipment performance, and product qualitySuggest improvements to working conditions and equipment usageManage utilities consumption to maximize operational efficiencySupport cross-training initiatives among production staff Supervision & Team ManagementSupervise about 10 employees within the Production DepartmentInterview, hire, train, evaluate, and discipline staff in accordance with company policiesProvide performance feedback and support employee developmentAddress employee concerns and resolve operational issues QualificationsBilingual in Japanese and English (required)Practical experience in a food manufacturing environment (required)Basic PC skills (Microsoft Office, spreadsheet and production/inventory systems)Understanding of manufacturing processes and quality control standardsStrong problem-solving and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment
