Online Learning Advisor - 2026 2027 school year
Position Definition: The Online Learning Advisor is responsible for providing the support, training, and advocacy necessary for participants in full-time online learning programs to succeed. Will also provide direct assistance with eLearn21 program support.Relationship: The Online Learning Advisor shall be directly responsible to the Director or Coordinator of Curriculum and Instruction/Educational Technologies.QualificationsEducation/Experience: B.S. or B.A. in Education or Communications, or related field, preferred.Minimum of 1-2 years of teaching in a K-12 environment, preferred.Skills/KnowledgeStrong background in online learning and learning management systems.Strong background in educational technology.Strong written and oral communications skills.Ability to coach students in the use of computer software and its application within the curriculum.Ability to work independently and unsupervised.Ability to work collaboratively.Good organizational skills.Good time management skills.Analytical ability to solve technology-related problems.Possess a valid driver's license.PhysicalAbility to effectively use office equipment including but not limited to phone system, fax machine, copier, computer, and calculator.Ability to communicate via telephone system.Ability to sit for long periods of time (3 hours).Ability to drive to remote sites for meetings.Ability to stoop, bend, and reach over the head to retrieve objects.Ability to lift at least 20-30 pounds.Authority: The Online Learning Advisor will have the authority to perform all functions listed below in accordance with established policies and procedures.Functions/Duties/Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function/duty/responsibility at acceptable standards. Prepares the necessary support and communication with local school districts regarding student progress, attendance, and engagement in online learning programs.Prepares and provides weekly student reports for CLIU and district administrators.Effectively advocates for student support from online teachers, course providers, or technical support.Manages student course enrollments through the school year. SecondaryDevelops and implements training for school personnel related to the online learning programs.Assists in the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of online learning initiatives and student programs.Accepts additional duties as assigned by the Director or Coordinator of Curriculum and Instruction/Educational Technologies and the Coordinator of Educational Technologies.
