OverviewThe Market Produce Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the produce department, ensuring the highest standards of freshness, presentation, and compliance with food safety standards. This role supports the Market Retail Supervisor by leading the team, managing inventory, and creating a visually stunning and inviting produce section that reflects the store's upscale brand.Work Mode: OnsiteLocation: Kohler, WISpecific ResponsibilitiesLead and supervise produce associates; delegate tasks such as stocking, rotation, cleaning, and merchandisingTrain team members on product handling, customer service, and food safety standardsFoster a positive, efficient, and quality-focused work environmentCustomer Service and SalesProvide knowledgeable assistance to customers regarding produce selection, storage, and preparationHandle special requests and resolve customer concerns professionallyEducate customers on organic, local, and seasonal offeringsProduct Quality and MerchandisingEnsure all produce is fresh, properly rotated, and attractively displayedMonitor product rotation and manage shrink to minimize wasteMaintain high visual merchandising standards, including signage and seasonal displaysFood Safety and ComplianceEnforce strict food safety and sanitation protocols, including temperature logs and cleaning schedulesEnsure compliance with local health regulations and store policiesMaintain proper storage and handling of all produce itemsInventory and OrderingMonitor inventory levels and communicate restocking needs to the Food Operations ManagerAssist with receiving deliveries and verifying product quality and accuracyTrack usage and suggest adjustments to ordering based on sales trends and seasonal availabilityCross-Department CollaborationCoordinate with deli, grocery, and prepared foods teams for cross-promotions and eventsSupport store-wide initiatives and seasonal resetsAct as MOD on an as-needed rotational basis and follow responsibilities and expectations as set in the MOD SOPComplete all duties and requests as assigned by managementThis is a full-time position working both weekdays and weekends. Shifts vary between 5:30 am and 9:00 pm.Skills/RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalency requiredMust be at least 18 years old2+ years of experience in produce or grocery, with 1+ years leadership experience preferredStrong knowledge of fruits, vegetables, and organic/local sourcingExcellent customer service and communication skillsAbility to lead by example and maintain high standardsAbility to use POS systems and comfortable with cash handlingAbility to operate slicers, scales, and other equipment safelyServSafe certification or equivalent required, or obtained upon hireAbility to lift up to 50 lbs and work in cold environments and stand for extended periodsFlexible availability, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidaysApplicants must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.We believe in supporting you from the moment you join us, which is why Kohler offers day 1 benefits.
