In this role, you help translate HR strategy into day-to-day execution, supporting performance management, associate relations, talent development, and engagement initiatives, while ensuring alignment with CarMax’s policies, culture, and business priorities.Role ResponsibilitiesBuild and maintain effective partnerships with leaders, managers, and associates across assigned departments.Provide day-to-day guidance on policy interpretation, performance management, associate relations, and talent development, exercising good judgement and addressing issues at root cause.Apply analysis and decision-making skills to evaluate HR data and identify trends.Partner with HR Centers of Excellence to execute compensation, benefits, talent, and associate relations processes.Support development programs to build bench strength and associate growth.Communicate clearly and professionally with leaders and associates.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree preferred5+ years of HR or related experience, with strong analytical and project management skillsAbility to influence leaders, prioritize competing responsibilities, and make decisions in ambiguous situationsStrong communication skills with the ability to present data clearly and effectivelyProficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPointExperience with Workday or comparable human capital management systemsAbout CarMaxAt CarMax, we revolutionized the used car buying experience over 30 years ago by introducing transparency and integrity into the process.
