Job DescriptionJob Title: Senior SQL Server Database AdministratorOverview / SummaryThe Database Administrator is responsible for maintaining the health, performance, and security of a large-scale SQL Server environment spanning over 100 databases across 102 servers. This role focuses on daily operations, performance tuning, troubleshooting, data migrations, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to support applications, reporting, and development efforts.Key ResponsibilitiesMonitor system resources and identify expensive or slow-running queriesReview SQL Server and Windows logs to detect anomalies and resolve issuesManage SQL Server Agent jobs, scheduling, and notificationsTroubleshoot SSRS reporting issues and support reporting environmentsPerform real-time problem resolution and root cause analysisManage user permissions and implement access controlsSupport database migrations and upgrades from legacy SQL Server versionsConduct performance tuning, index analysis, and space managementCollaborate with teams on ETL processes and SSIS package updatesSupport application environments and development activitiesAssist with schema refinement, query optimization, and code reviewsEnsure data protection and security for applications (e.g., CCURE9000)Participate in project meetings and knowledge transfer sessionsRequired Qualifications8 years of SQL Server Administration, including installation, configuration, and upgrades (SQL Server 2012/2016/2019)8 years of database performance monitoring and tuning (CPU, memory, I/O, query optimization, indexing, execution plans)8 years of backup and recovery, including disaster recovery planning and restoration using SQL Server tools and Azure SQL8 years of security and access control (role-based access, authentication, encryption, compliance)8 years of ETL and SSIS development, including package management and workflow support8 years of job scheduling and automation using SQL Server Agent and Notification Services8 years of log analysis and troubleshooting across SQL Server, Windows, and application logs8 years of index and storage management, including space utilization and performance optimization8 years of experience with database migration and upgrade projects across environments8 years of experience with SSRS configuration and troubleshooting8 years of cross-functional collaboration and knowledge transfer8 years of cloud integration experience with Azure SQL (BacPac, restoration, hybrid support)Preferred QualificationsSoftware development experienceWhat Makes HTC A Great Place To Build Your FutureHTC Global Services wants you to join our team.
