AP Manager

Providence, RIPermanent | HybridSoni’s client is seeking an Accounts Payable Manager to lead the AP team and oversee the full invoice-to-pay process. This is a great opportunity for a hands-on leader who enjoys building strong processes, ensuring accuracy, and driving efficiency within a growing organization.Reporting to finance leadership, this individual will manage day-to-day AP operations, support close activities, and partner cross-functionally to improve workflows and maintain strong internal controls. The ideal candidate brings leadership experience, strong technical accounting knowledge, and a process improvement mindset.Responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Manager:Lead, mentor, and develop the accounts payable teamOversee high-volume invoice processing and approval workflowsEnsure accurate 2-way and 3-way matching of invoices, purchase orders, and receiptsManage payment cycles including ACH, wire, check, and virtual cardsMonitor AP aging and ensure timely vendor paymentsReview and approve journal entries related to APReconcile AP subledger to the general ledgerManage month-end and year-end close activities for APEstablish and enforce internal controls and company policiesHandle escalations and resolve complex vendor issuesPartner with Procurement and Finance to streamline processesSupport internal and external audits and ensure complianceIdentify and implement automation and system improvementsRequirements of the Accounts Payable Manager:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field5–8+ years of accounts payable or accounting experience2–4+ years of supervisory or management experienceStrong knowledge of accounting principles and AP best practicesExperience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuiteAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups)Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsHigh attention to detail and ability to meet deadlinesPreferred Qualifications:Experience in a high-volume or fast-paced environmentProven ability to drive process improvements and automation initiativesStrong cross-functional collaboration experienceCompensation: $95,000 – $110,000Compensation May Vary Based On Experience, Skills, And Qualifications.Please apply for immediate consideration!
