Custodian

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in various facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all. This role is essential in supporting the overall operations of our organization through effective custodial practices. Duties Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming to maintain cleanliness in assigned areas. Conduct industrial cleaning as required, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations. Manage floor care activities such as buffing and waxing to enhance the appearance of flooring surfaces. Assist with residential painting projects as needed, contributing to the upkeep of facilities. Provide commercial cleaning services, ensuring all areas are sanitized and well-maintained. Support facilities maintenance by reporting any repairs or maintenance needs to management promptly. Act as a porter by moving furniture or equipment as necessary to facilitate cleaning or events. Maintain an organized supply inventory and ensure all cleaning supplies are stored safely. Qualifications Previous experience in custodial or cleaning roles is preferred but not mandatory. Knowledge of industrial cleaning methods and equipment is advantageous. Familiarity with floor care techniques, including buffing and waxing processes. Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards. Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
