Senior Quality Assurance Tester

Role: Mid-Senior QA TesterLocation : Frisco, TX (Hybrid)Duration: ContractTeam EnvironmentThe current onsite team has around 12 people. They also work closely with offshore resources who support the same applications. The onsite team members are expected to act as leads and collaborate closely with the offshore team.The manager is looking for someone who is a positive team player, willing to help others, and comfortable working in a friendly, open-communication environment. This person should not work in a silo and should be willing to learn, collaborate, and support other application teams as needed.Key Technical RequirementsThe strongest candidates will have hands-on experience with:• Heavy API testing, specifically SOAP and Postman• Strong SQL testing, including the ability to write queries from scratch• Manual testing and strong QA fundamentals• Understanding the difference between smoke testing and regression testing• Ability to prioritize deliverables and think independently• Azure DevOps / ADO experience is preferred, but the manager said it is easy to pick upAutomationAutomation experience is a huge plus. They currently have one person on the team who is very strong in automation and is helping teach others. They may use Cypress Business for automation in the future, but final decisions have not been made yet.Interview ProcessThe first interview will be a technical screen via Teams with a couple of members from the manager’s team.The second interview will be in person. This role will be onsite in the Frisco, TX corporate office 3 days per week, with 2 days remote.Duties & Responsibilities• Develop and enhance departmental best practices, procedures, and the utilization of available tools and technologies within the QA process• Review and ensure test cases are developed and documented in alignment with acceptance criteria for each user story• Develop, execute, and maintain comprehensive software test plans and test cases• Collaborate effectively with offshore QA teams to execute Agile sprint testing activities• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to support high-quality product development• Perform manual and automated testing• Produce detailed reporting of test execution and defect rates within bug tracking tools• Demonstrate leadership by helping teams achieve successful project outcomes• Communicate effectively across all levels of the organization• Create a sense of urgency and inspire a commitment to excellence• Continually improve processes and procedures for assigned areas of responsibility• Actively participate in daily team meetings, sprint planning sessions, and refinement sessionsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities• Strong fundamental testing capabilities• Ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels• Ability to engage effectively with customers and internal stakeholders• Understanding of requirements-based testing and software development life cycles• Knowledge of both manual and automated QA methods and processes• Basic to intermediate SQL knowledge for database testing• Ability to plan, execute, and manage phased testing across the full SDLC, including functional and non-functional testing• Highly motivated, results-oriented self-starter• Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines effectively• Experience with API testingEducation, Experience, and Software• Completed college degree preferred• 7–10 years of software QA testing experience• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint• Azure DevOps environment background preferred• Healthcare industry experience is a plusPlease focus on candidates who are strong technically, collaborative, comfortable onsite, and able to work independently without needing step-by-step direction.
