The opportunityAltitude 7 is a small, specialist AI consultancy helping hedge funds and investment-management firms turn AI from an experiment into practical systems their teams can use.We are looking for an early-career technical builder who is deeply interested in Claude, Claude Code, Codex, and the rapidly evolving world of AI agents.You will initially focus on building, testing, and documenting practical agents and demonstrations. As your knowledge and confidence grow, you will also help train investment professionals to use these technologies effectively.Few early-career roles offer the opportunity to build practical AI systems, learn directly from an experienced financial-services founder, and help sophisticated investment firms apply those systems to real work.What you will do• Build and improve contained AI agents, prototypes, and workflow automations.• Turn rough ideas into working demonstrations using language models, APIs, and modern development tools.• Test agent outputs, investigate failures, and document what works.• Prepare practical training exercises, demonstrations, and user guides.• Learn how investment firms approach research, operations, compliance, and other business workflows.• Help deliver training on Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Codex, and agent-based workflows.• Keep our demonstrations and training current as AI products change.The role starts with hands-on building, testing, and shadowing. Client-facing responsibility will increase as you demonstrate the necessary technical knowledge, communication skills, and judgment.What will make you stand outYou do not simply use AI tools—you experiment with them, test their limits, and build things that work.You have created at least one working agent, automation, or AI-enabled workflow. It does not need to be large or commercially deployed, but you should be able to demonstrate it and explain the problem, how you built it, where it failed, and what you would improve next.What we are looking for• A computer-science, software-engineering, or related foundation—or equivalent demonstrated technical ability.• Practical experience with Claude Code, Codex, or comparable agent-building tools.• Evidence of something you personally built using AI, APIs, or automation.• Clear written and spoken communication.• The confidence to present, listen, and think on your feet.• Curiosity, reliability, and sound judgment in a fast-moving remote environment.• Availability to work consistently during agreed US business hours.Finance, economics, accounting, or business experience is valuable but not required.
