Above all, Employees will be provided the same concern, respect, and caring attitude within the organization that they are expected to share externally with every Southwest Customer.Job DescriptionThe Associate Maintenance Programs Engineer supports the Maintenance Programs Team within Technical Operations (Tech Ops) by assisting in the development and optimization of Southwest Airlines’ scheduled maintenance programs. They’ll provide engineering support through documentation, data analysis, and regulatory alignment while gaining exposure to OEM standards, internal procedures, and maintenance program processes. They’ll partner with Stakeholders across Tech Ops to analyze data, identify trends, and support maintenance optimization efforts using tools such as Excel, Alteryx, SQL, and VizQL. We’re committed to fair hiring practices and to making employment decisions without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, national origin, age, military or veteran status, disability, genetic information, or other legally protected characteristics.ResponsibilitiesAssist in preparing, formatting, and updating maintenance-related technical documentationAssist with gathering and analyzing aircraft reliability data to identify trends, system degradations, and opportunities for maintenance optimizationParticipate in the development and substantiation of maintenance tasks for implementation into the SWA maintenance programParticipate in activities related to various types of cost/benefit analysisCollaborate with other departments such as Planning, Supply Chain, Quality, Production and other Stakeholders for impact driven from maintenance program changesSupport the implementation of document change requests and OEM document revisionsInterpret basic technical content with guidance and supportSupport Station visits, as required, to support Maintenance ProgramsMay perform other job duties as directed by LeadershipKnowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesFoundational understanding of aircraft systems, technical documentation, and maintenance program structuresFoundational in interpreting regulatory, OEM documentation, and Engineering documents, such as but not limited to AMM, IPC, ADs, SBs, STCs, Engineering Orders, Design DrawingsFoundantional in interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to lead, influence, collaborate, and adapt within cross-functional team environments; consistently effective under pressure and within proposed deadlines.Strong written and verbal communication skillsDetail-oriented with a willingness to follow established processesBasic technical comprehensionAbility to collect, organize, visualize, and assimilate data, including turning raw data into meaningful information, using data-oriented programs and visualization softwareSkilled in Microsoft Office SuiteFamiliarity with Alteryx, SQL, or VizQL coding languagesTeam-oriented with eagerness to learn and take initiativeComfortable working in fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentsEducationRequired: High School Diploma or GEDRequired: Bachelor of Science in an ABET accredited course of study in EngineeringExperienceEntry-level experience, developing skills, and knowledge in:Aircraft Systems, Aircraft Maintenance, and Maintenance ProgramsPreferred: Experience in analyzing analytics to improve Maintenance Program processes Licensing/CertificationMust be able to obtain and maintain a SIDA badge and meet all local airport requirementsPhysical AbilitiesAbility to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of timeAbility to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the jobAbility to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the jobOther QualificationsMust maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelinesMust be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986Must be at least 18 years of ageMust be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelinesMust meet confidentiality expectations as to confidential, proprietary and sensitive Company informationPay & BenefitsCompetitive market salary from $81,200 per year to $90,200 per year* depending on qualifications and experience.
